Irish Myths is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a small affiliate commission.

Look, I’ll level with you: if you’re a long-time IrishMyths.com reader and/or subscriber, you really don’t need to dole out any dough for my new book, Irish Myths in Your Pocket: A Tiny Little Book About Irish Legends, Folklore, & Fairytales for Impressing Friends & Family on St. Patrick’s Day and Other Special Occasions.

And that’s because you’ve already read it.

The literally pocket-sized book (it’s 4 by 6 inches, the same size as a photograph—remember photographs?) is a compilation of articles I’ve written for IrishMyths.com over the past few years.

Specifically, Irish Myths in Your Pocket consists of the following seven articles, which I stitched together and supplemented with photography and illustrations.

Now, why am I telling you this?

A) because I don’t want you to buy something you’ve effectively already read, and

B) because I have an even bigger ask.

I said “ask”

As of right now*, the digital version of Irish Myths in Your Pocket is available for free ($0) in the Kindle Store.

(*assuming you’re reading this between April 30th and May 4th, 2022)

It would mean a huge deal to me if you could grab yourself a free copy and scribble me a quick Amazon review. You have no idea how helpful that would be…unless you’re also a writer, in which case, you know exactly how powerful reviews can be.

Yes, this is sort of like an NPR pledge drive, only…that was it! It’s over! I’m just going to leave you with this quick description so you have a better idea of what this book is all about.

Irish Myths in Your Pocket (Celtic Pocket Guides 1)

40+ images, hundreds of fascinating facts about Irish mythology, and one Celtic Otherworld-shattering showdown between Ireland’s two greatest legendary heroes. That’s just a tantalizing taste of what you’ll find crammed into the nooks and crannies of this pocket-sized guide to Irish mythology. And when I say pocket-sized, I mean literally pocket-sized. The paperback version of Irish Myths in Your Pocket: A Tiny Little Book About Irish Legends, Folklore, & Fairytales for Impressing Friends & Family on St. Patrick’s Day and Other Special Occasions is 4 inches by 6 inches, the same size as a photograph. Okay, fine, one more thing: this is Book One of a planned series: Celtic Pocket Guides. Book Two has already been written and will be about werewolves and headless horsemen and vampires and, more generally, Samhain and the origins of Halloween.

  1. Alas! I can only purchase on Amazon.co.uk as it won’t allow me through your link.

Once I’ve navigated Kindle (I’m a relatively new comer to it), you can be sure I’ll get it and review then!

  2. Done! Thank you! I will hopefully also get myself a hard copy as well. It will help with my novel background! I love your posts so thank you for putting them all together to read! Cheers!
